all bugs/coins must have pictures at the start of the race, as well as a link to the hosting web site (www.cowboycamper.proboards.com)
more will come based off of discussions.

Looks like we'll be be doing this at the CITO Event, huh? Sounds good to me too. Thus, the Announcement has been made.
Now all we have to do is come up with a Name for this CITO event!

I'll admit it. I have to learn more about how the TB race even works before I can Vote on a Points System. This is still new to me and I don't yet fully understand it. I'll get there though. Soon, I hope!

I still don't understand the Point's System for this. Announcement Status will remain for this topic. Voting is still Open, folks.

All Miles Only All Miles and Specific Pictures Miles One Jump per cacher Miles (no dipping) and Specific Pics
Ok, here's how the points work:
All Miles Only This one is a basic scoring system, it would score 1 point for every mile that it moves, tallied at the end of every month (as long as the miles are posted that is) and at the end of the race, the bug that has moved the most miles wins.
All Miles and Specific Pictures All miles is the same as above, however when you add specific pictures is where the scoring starts to get interesting. Ie. as this is a camping web site it could be 1 point per mile, 5 points for pictures at campgrounds, and 10 points for every picture of the bug/coin camping
Miles One Jump per cacher Is again similar to the first option however only the first move counts, for example: cacher a picks up a bug at cache a and moves it to cache b, then to cache c, the only move that would count would be from a to b, until cacher a leaves it and another cacher picks it up and moves it again.
Miles (no dipping) and Specific Pics Combines option B and Option C

To make things a little easier, I chose A) All Miles Only. Now then, How long is this race gonna last? Cause now I have an idea that this is not something that is started and finished during a single Event. (that's what had me lost at the beginning.... ) Also, who did I agree with when I voted? LOL! ;D Either you or the Peach! BTW, you need to tell her to start to Say something here by posting. Oh well. It's not like the Mrs. posts here much either. And she's an Employee!

the race would go from july 3rd 2010, to july 3rd 2011 depending on votes that are in now, and yet to come (with luck their will be more) as to which you voted with, it was me. leanne likes pictures...

Well, I like Pictures too. But you saw how many times I had the camera in hand at the last cache run we did together. None! So, I voted my Point's choice based on keeping it simple. And I did that because I thought we were somehow going to Open and Close that TB race at the single day event, and that you and I were gonna proclaim the winner of the race at the end of the day/event.
You know what? Clearly I am a Total Idiot (by definition, folks.... keep the wisecracks to yourself now...) (( CRAIG! LOL!!!)) and as such, I think I ought to stay out of this topic until Bryan and I have a chance to sit down and talk about this. It's very Obvious that I have some learning to do in regards to TB races. Shoot, I might even look into Rescinding my vote until I understand this a bit more than I do right now. (I have GOT to get a Blackeye Smiley working here!)

Well to be certain, these Polls are Fair and Honest. I can't even Vote again to cancel out my (possibly) mistaken vote. And No Edits from me either.
Oh well, I guess I'll stick with my Simple Miles Vote. Now for another lame remark from me.
I don't even Have a TB at the moment. (well I do, but it's up in Wisconsin somewhere...) Does an Entry have to be Owned by the cacher that "Enters the Race'? , or are you supplying TB's from your TB Hotel Cache as entries?
Hmm.. maybe not such a dumb question after all. Who is gonna track the Miles of the TB (assuming that method wins the Vote here) and how will we go about tracking said mileage to determine the Victor of the race?
I think I Might be getting a better idea of what you have in mind, and I may even be able to Enter my own TB into this Race. But we still need to talk about this so that I am knowing that I'm on the same page here with your idea.

But we still need to talk about this so that I am knowing that I'm on the same page here with your idea. Well, the bugs will be brand new bugs (will start the race with 0 miles) they will then have their initial drop into the event (the meet and greet) whoever is the starter of the race will pick up all the bugs at the end of the event (i'll volunteer for that as i have a cache in mind for them) that person will then bring them to a cache (that see's alot of cachers) and will place all of them their for an even starting ground. the cache i'm looking at is: Big Orange Travel Bug Convention Center www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=4d418b7c-7d1d-4209-b771-28c1e2fe05f8 its located in Niles Michigan, Maxine (MaxieB) and her husband move alot of bugs and have connections with cachers that also move alot of bugs and will get them all off to a flying start. I'll pm you what leanne and i talked about (in regards to bugs)

CITO is a caching acronym standing for Cache In Trash Out, basically what we would be doing for a cito event would be picking up any litter, pulling weeds that are over running the trails, and collecting deadfall for the burn pit. as to wanting to understand geocaching a little bit better, there's a couple of decent videos on their web site, but i don't think either one talks about the different event types, for that you might need to check out go geocaching. i'll url both sites. www.geocaching.com Geocaching www.gogeocaching.com/EventHelp.html Event How To

Event I've attended. 12-27-09, I remember it well. My daughter and I made the trip and just getting there was quite the adventure considering the Wintery Weather we just had the night before and during the trip down to Mohomet, IL. We even got the FTF (First To Find) on two of the 4 Event Caches. Here'a s Link for that listing LINK but you need to be a member of Geocaching.com and Logged in to see it, because the Event is long over and thus has been Archived. But that was one fun day for sure!

Per PM's with Bryan, it looks like I'm gonna use up 3 more of his available TB's. So I think there are only 3 (or 2?) remaining available At/For the TB Race Event.
Somewhat MY own fault, but I was unable to get any ordered in time for myself & the family. I will Try, but it is looking unlikely that I will have any in stock to offer up for sale at the Event.
I'll keep y'all posted on those events (TB Stock) if anything changes soon.
