i've been talking to another cacher, who is interested in meeting a local caching group, i sent her this link, and told her that we get together for caching trips, and that as a group we need to plan another outing. so long as my van don't get stuck again we'll be good.

I talked with Bryan a little tonight as we were Drawing the Winner for April's "Cache of the Month", and I think we've collectively settled on the Dwight area. I pulled up the Geo Map of the area around Dwight and see 13 Regulars and 2 Multis we can try to get try to get done in an afternoon or a day. On the way back home, there are another 7 in the small town of Garner as we travel up Historic Rt. 66 to get back home. Rt. 66 is Such a cool road to travel on... I think y'all would enjoy the ride! So there's the 13 or 15 (depending if we do the Multi's or not) + the 7 in Gardner = 22. + the other 12 heading back to Essex = 34 total for y'all. The Cowboy Clan can't collect on that last 12, but I'd be happy to lead ya there. And no... the Van won't get stuck if you follow my lead Exactly on one of those caches, cause I took my car off road before I got the new tires and I made it just fine. Or we could hike the .7 Miles if you wish to. Or, I could drive the Truck that day... I dunno. It's open for discussion, and that's why we're all here at these forums in the first place.

Is Dwight a BAD run (cause y'all already got them?) or a good Run cause there's New ones out in that direction? Also, Confirm the Date. You mean This Sunday, the 9th? One of us can Edit the Subject of this Topic to let the rest of the folks here start to make plans for it.

I think you might need to add some to your Bookmark List. Please Compare your new Bookmark list to this one I made 2 Sundays ago. (we found 12 caches between Essex and Gardner...) Essex Run The Cowboy Clan made a run out West on the 25th of April, and that topic can be found HERE Of the 12 we found, you have only 3 of them in your Bookmark List. Yikes?

45 + 12 = 57 Caches.
Yup, 8:00 AM on Sunday looks like a great time to get the day started!
Wow, do I ever have some Homework/Printer work to do in the next few days, huh? Better get my tail to the store for that Toner I need for the main printer!

trying to figure out if we wanna take 47 or 53, if we take 47 we have to head up to Coal City and Diamond before we can head back south towards Gardner, if we take 53 we bypass 7 caches. i'm voting to bypass those 7 for another day... i'll probably call tomorrow afternoon. to figure out which route and where we wanna meet up at.

Bing? Not. IMHO, at least. By following the route you laid out, we'd Totally bypass Essex and all of the Mazonia caches I want to take y'all too. Also, driving through town sucks. What I did when we went out west was go 102 to Warner Bridge Road to Rt. 17 to Essex first. (16000 W Rd. from 17) Through back roads, we ended up at Rt.53 and made our way down toward Gardner. Now the Dead End caches by Foxtrotter involve Rt. 129, a Paralleled Highway on the other side of the tracks from 53. (trust me, it messed me up at first!) From there, we can head on down old Rt.66 to get to Dwight. 47 was never in my plan of travel, nor was Coal City or Diamond.
But as luck would have it, a medical issue for me has the day Off tomorrow so I have all day to plan out this Route and get the Mapping in proper order. Better than I did for the Willow slough run, and we all know how that turned out, right? I was off course just One time... and your take over got ya Stuck! DO call, and let's do a better prep job for this run. I'm certainly open for input (as we seem to be approaching this from opposite directions...) but I've got all day Sat. to get things in order here. FWIW, I usually Cache Out and Drive In. The Essex run we did a couple weeks back worked out A-OK for us.... but I'll look a lot more into this one tomorrow. On a Very Rare Saturday Off work.

that was the exact reason i was fixin' to call was to find out where we wanted to start at. I started with Dwight but figured it could a reverse route if needed... and the Manazonia caches where gonna be on the second part but bing went down halfway through the route.

Per call w/ Bryan: 8:00 AM at Mc D's on Rt. 102 for breakfast. Hit the road to 102 to Warner Bridge to 17 to Essex and beyond. An Oddity will happen after Mazonia 1, where I screwed up last time on the dead end caches. Head N on 53 to Braceville (not too far) and get over tracks to 129. S to Other Dead End. Back to 53 for Riviera (cool Place!) and then across tracks again to Kobe's and Another Dead End. --- I'll bring a map to show it to ya's. Right and Wrong, I did em both! Onward to Gardner's 6 (7, but 1 isn't there) and off the trail some for 3 new ones we spotted on the Geo Map in S. Wilmington. Then Dwight's, up 47 to 113 (several caches along the way) Earth Cache on 113, Back to 102 for Patty's Place and... I think that about covers it. I gotta quit posting now, cause I have a LOT of loading to do in the GPSr's! And Notes to take. I'm gonna skip all that Printing this time. Gonna print Maps instead.

Sounds good to me as long as there's no dirt roads but it didn't give me to much trouble back in December...

Almost done w/ Notes in Dwight (yup, still writing....) and Dwight seems straight forward enough. I have a planned route we can go over in the morning. As I'm noting all the caches, I'm reading Logs too for clues. That's what's takin' me so long on this. Remind me to ask about car units & caching... ...
