It's a '94, so it's 134a. I'd like to have that fixed as well. If I had an R12 system, this would have never been asked. Cause I'm Full Aware of the R 12 situation. See my 92 is an R12 system.... One thing you could do, is convert the compressor into an air compressor, like many guys with off road built trucks and jeeps do..

I don't think you've ever Seen this camper Bryan. It's Fully Loaded as far as Pop Ups are concerned. Craig is picking on me about not remembering how to Use said camper... but he doesn't seem to understand that I work way more than the Standard 40 Hour week and that I'm dealing with a bunch of a holes that prevent me from taking my Allotted Vacation time. I know your busy working, sucks when work inter fears with vacation time.. One thing to keep inmind when building a custom cap.. keep the weight down.. I'm guessing that capper you currently have weighs about 200-250 lbs... Anything made from plywood is going to weigh more... the heavier your cap is the less firewood you can carry Scott ya know I'm just teasing ya about your trailer ... but I do hope you guys can use it this summer... btw ... did I see a new post from you or at another camping forum??? just this week... Yeah Brian.. you need to take a look through Scotts pictures.. think he has some of the trailer ... ..

There are also relatively easy ways to convert the R12 over to the R134a. But... The Air Compressor idea is something I have heard of being done before. I wonder how that works. Won't do a dang thing for my A/C, but you never know. Having an Engine Run Air Compressor could come in handy at times. Certainly something to consider, eh?

Looked at Link, and it's too late for Rust Prevention. I am now looking at Restoration of Damage that's already made it's way into the usual places. . Trust me it is not too late .. You fix what you can and then you prevent it from getting worse... Trust me ..even something that has been neglected and is rusted can be "treated" and the rusting will diminish. Seems like you've been through this and have done it before? Tell me more, as I'm certainly interested! Tell me your story (if applicable) not just a link I have to read through and figure out.

I hope we can get her Moved this season too. As for the capper, yup, I'm sure it's a Heavy SOB. Your post here makes me consider the Materials to use on any Custom build. Such as, I ain't gonna need no 5/8 inch Plywood to do the job where a 1/4 inch (or less?) will close it off. I don't know why for sure, but your post right here really had me reconsider them materials as built onto a Truck. You're making me consider the over all Weight of the custom job, and making me also consider that I'm not needing to build a Brick S*** house on my truck that is certainly intended to be Mobile. ~~~ Keep it Light, is what I'm getting from your most recent comment. Thanks Craig. I don't know what just clicked in my mind, but your post has a whole new train of ideas in mind for the Custom Build theory. With any Good Luck, this can be a really cool Mod for my Truck!

As for Bryan taking a look at my camper? Much easier to see it Live. Bryan is close enough that we can set up a time to come on over and see a Tour, Live and In Person for the camper. Pics are nice (and I have Plenty on line at Webshots....) but a Live set up is even better. Besides... this would be a good excuse to at least Open her Up this year!

I'll see if I have any pics of my buddy's car.. don't think I do, but I'll see what can be found...If you look at that video link I posted, thats the wagon.. what you can't see to good is the rust.. but if you squint and look real hard at the bottoms of the doors you'll see the dark line caused by the rust check as it creeps into places...
