On Father's Day weekend (extended trip for us) we went down to Marion Il. to camp in my Uncle's yard. A fun trip really, except for the fact that when we got there I found out that the dang Squirrels at home chewed out my Propane Hose from the tank to the regulator. No Water Heater for this trip! Son of a itch! (dang Squirrels!) Anyhow, Uncle took me to a camper parts place and the guy sold me a Pigtail for $15.oo bucks. 1/4" Standard fitting is what the guy told me it was. Didn't fit. His fitting was too small for my Regulator.
Long Story Short here.... There is a Difference between 1/4" MPT (Standard pipe Thread) and 1/4" Inverted". When I got back home here, I had a that VERY hot place of a time getting the proper fitting/hose for my dang camper. I mean, how dang difficult should this be, huh? After trying a couple of standard Hardware Stores and a Local Dealer, I ended up going the Hour long drive to my Selling Dealer to finally see the Solution. They had the 1/4" MPT hose in Stock as well as the Inverted 1/4" hose.
I'll post Comparison Pics soon. But I really didn't think it would be so dang hard to get a new Pigtail for the Propane tank on my camper. And YES, I bought 2 of them to have another Spare on hand for the next time these frickin' Squirrels eat my dang hose! Live and Learn, I guess. Pics coming soon.
