I'm on my 3rd Camper now. In about 12 years (since DD was born) I worked up from an old butt '66, up to a '75, and finally the new '08 we bought early on last year.
The '66 Wheel Campers one was bought for $50 bucks, basically sight unseen on the inside. The camper needed to have the Roof Frame rebuilt before it could even be opened up to see what the heck I just bought. But the price was right, and I got the camper out of the guy's yard. I'll be danged if this first camper didn't last almost 10 years with little to No understanding about maintenance or Repairs to a pop up.
More Pics of this one can be found here at This Link
I gave that up in 2006, just a few months before I knew a thing about Camper Forums such as this. (and now I actually own my own... talk about the Evolution! ) Knowing Then what I know now, who knows.... I might still have that one in a Restored Condition.
Anyhow, in 2006 I scrapped the '66 in favor of this here '75 Palomino.
More Pics can be seen here at This link and more can also be found in the Gallery I have at Webshots. Most notably, the Unique No Crank Roof. Here's the Link to that gallery.
This was a pretty nice camper, but the walls were falling apart and it only lasted just over a year.
Growing tired of this stuff, we happened to be able to be in a position to just go ahead and buy one brand New Camper last year. The '08 Palomino. I'm not trying to brag or anything (cause I worked hard to get this one!) but here's the newest pride and joy for us as a family that likes to go Camping. And I take an extra measure of Pride in the fact that my daughter loves this camper just about as much as I do.
Several Galleries are hosted at Webshots, but my favorite one is the one that talks about and shows the Mods to the '08. Check out This Link to see some of the stuff that's been done to the '08.
Anyhow, I figured I'd kick off this board by sharing my own camper history with y'all. I hope y'all will post up some pics of your own as well.
