I've been seeing all these lunch clubs popping up, all up north, and was wondering if we would consider having one here in town? We could create a monthly poll for sugestions... what's everyone think?

And this can be a Caching Event? You'll have to send a GC # for me to see, but I think I like the idea if we can get a decent Schedule arranged. Remember though, Joe lives about an hour or so north of us here. Is the Pool Poll for ideas of where to eat? Sounds good too. Denny's, VIPS, Lone star, and TGIF's come to mind. Back to the Schedule thing. Would Sunday Lunch after Church be OK with folks? Best day as to not get in the way of Work schedules. [red]EDIT: Found a Typo...[/red]

I work in Schaumburg now, so I am even further away... There is now 3 lunch groups, Chicago, NW Indiana, and North burbs. Do one for the southerners!

We could kick it off after the GSAK 3.0 Event next Saturday. The 3 of us and several others will already be there. As for the Official Publishing, best do this right away or fill me in on how to do it myself. It wouldn't be the first time I've been called out on such Short Notice for Cache Events. Maybe this time around, we should just consider the Lunch/Supper as a Bonus? Dunno. Just tossing ideas into the ring here.

There's a bunch of GC's for some listed up north on the calender.... Back to the Schedule thing. Would Sunday Lunch after Church be OK with folks? Best day as to not get in the way of Work schedules. Would be fine by me, say once a month (lets start in March for an actual GC so that it gives us a month...) lunch at say 1:30-2:30? that way I get a chance to sleep as I'm still on midnight weekends at work...

The GSAK Events have hovered around Mid Month, so the 13th works for me. The GSAK Events are set on Saturdays, so the unrelated Lunch Club on Sundays is also a good idea. The Events do not need to be connected as far as I'm concerned. We both need to talk to Joe this Saturday to see how his schedule will work for keeping the Classes going, and hopefully to get him in with the Lunch Club Events. I see the poll now. Hmmm. How to Vote. Appears that so far Dennys and VIPS is out. So... How to Vote?

I was talkin' with Bryan tonight and he talked about this Topic. I asked him to find and BUMP it here. Good thing too.
As we my recall, the GSAK Classes kinda fell through after March, so I think it's a good thing to bring up the Lunch Club theory again.
I'm reclling this now as a good idea, and there's a bit less of a Commitment involved (ie. nobody has to teach a Class for an Even like this....) So I'm Open to this being talked about again. I'm all for this... Thanks for the Bump, Bryan. Janikees in June on a Sunday after Church sounds like a good place to kick this off.
No Classes, No teaching obligations... Just a good and Random get together for a meal and fellowship. What can possibly go wrong with that?

I wanna go to a few of these. If I go as an Owner/Host or a Guest... no matter to me. Just as long as it might happen. But let's make sure the Host knows that Month in Advance so that he can get it listed in time at the GC Site.

I voted for Denny's ... but you'll have to schedule things about a year in advance so I can plan a vacation to get there ...

Denny's is the easy one, I can walk from my front door and be at Denny's within 5 minutes.

oh I know I could make it.. and on time too ... Once flew from Toronto to Vancouver for breakfast (on the plane), lunch downtown Vancouver, supper in Vancouver and a second supper on the plane heading back home...
Now if you move it to the Denny's location up near O'hare ... then I could definitely try to come ...
