I meant to post this yesterday. This week take time to thank those veterans who have served and to remember those who served and never returned.. I have a 3x great uncle who is buried in the Courcelette British Cemetery. Even though he was only 23 on that day in September 1916, in the Somme region of France, he is one of 790 "lucky" ones who was ever identified. Courcelette Cemetery

I'm sorry that I neglected to reply to this one any sooner, but it's 11-11 today. Veteran's Day. Not quite the same as Memorial Day, but pretty close.
I have 2 Family Members that were in the Service, and I have 1 Friend that has been recently released. Grandpa, WW II, Uncle Denny, Viet Nam, and Bryan, Iraq.
Every one of them is a Better man than me, IMHO, cause they went and served and I did not. Back in '91, I was a younger punk and a coward and I didn't want to have anything to do with War. And when 9-11 hit us, I was too Old to sign up and go serve and kick some butt. The Big Difference for me today, is that now I pay Extra Attention to Memorial Day, for my grandpa is no longer with us. But y'all know what folks? That actually makes me thing that we need to do More to remember and recognize the Veterans on Veteran's Day while THEY ARE STILL HERE WITH US!!!!
I tried talking to Denny about Nam. Didn't go over very well. And I don't know enough about my friend Bryan and his Iraq service, but that doesn't change anything when it comes to Recognizing my Brothers in Arms (Much stronger than I) who have served our Country and Defended the Freedoms that we hold dear. (and sometimes take for Granted?)
Anyhow... Pay Respects where respects are due, folks. Veterans have Earned that much at the very least!
