there are other things to do in camp then to sep up ones RV/Camper or tent and roast marsh mollows. its not jsut ghost storys and the cache or two. theres also so primitive skills to learn/practice. granted i havent been camping since i was 11 and then it was in a pop-up trailer. (no offence scott) granted aswell that was my only evperience camping, i have been learning and gathering items and knowledge for survival. such things are important to learn and best practiced in a camp setting. fire making, shelter making, fishing/trapping the study of nature with out the distraction of electronics (bring the GPS just in case lol) and learning what it took for those who came before us to live. maybe i say this because i was never a boyscout but wanted to be. hey i'm starting late. anyone have other thoughts on other things that would be great to do in camp?

I can think of lots of things you can (learn to) do while camping ...
One suggestion I have is to pick up the boy scout hand book .. IIRC it has a lot of things you can do while camping (fire making, shelter making, knot tieing etc)...
There also all kinds of games one can play from simple stuff like find star constellations to ring toss games..
Hopefully Scott or Bryan still have a copy of the BS manual and they double check , but I'm sure it had lots of activities in it..

I've got copies of Boy Scout Manuals that date back into the early '60's!!! LOL! Awesome!!! Yes, they used to be Chock Full of informative stuff. Though lately (2001, ish.... ? ) They've been working toward leaning Politically Left. AKA.. Politically Correct. But that's another issue altogether. .... ... .. .

Just in case you don't know, Dan. Bryan was a War Veteran. Recently Discharged. (honorably, I hope.... ) Regardless, he has Served our Country, and I hold a Higher measure of Respect for all who have done the duty.

i respect anyone who has served the american people in their defence. as such Bryan has my utmost respect as well. i had previous knowledge of his service through his profile and things said on his cache pages. i can tell he is a good man and the term man is more then age defined i have yet to meet him but i can tell he fits the full definition
