Oh good Lord!!! Folks, something happened to my PC last night/this morning and I'm in the process of performing a Total System Recovery from scratch. I mean, just like the day I brought this PC Home!
What a bear of a project this is now. Pics and Docs.... all Lost! Heck, I'm just happy to have remembered my log in ID and password for this site and a couple of other places I venture to regularly. I'll have to seek and reset all my Favorites to IE, and I'll have to reload Firefox (my preferred Browser) and reset all them Bookmarks too. Jeeze. Looks like I'll be a busy fellow for the next few days. At least I didn't have to replace the Main Computer again, like I had to do in the past. What a Drag!!!
Suffice it to say, The Management here and the Site (that I WAS working on Closing) will need to be put on Hold for a while. Such is life I guess. You get kicked in the nuts every now and then, but if you're Man enough you will recover. Well, I'm man enough and in the process of recovering.

Big Time Update!!
This time, I'm in the Process of Replacing the Main PC. ... .. .. It may be a while before I'm back and restored as Usual. I have my ways to Monitor the goings on, but I may not be able to chime in like I am accustomed to.. ... Take care folks...

Well... I guess I can do a little at a time with the Transfer of info from one machine to the new. That job is just too much of a PITA to do all in one sitting, likely impossible for me unless I figure out the Files & Settings Transfer Wizard. Really not sure if that will even work cause the newer PC's from work are loaded with WinXP Pro, and the old ones were all WinXP Home. Might work, not sure yet. So... I'll Likely be posting in the evenings as usual, just maybe not as much. Better this way, than posting or working on the site here at work (like I did this morning, Editing my last post here...) The hardest thing will be getting the Card Reader moved, and in fact, I don't think that I can connect it to this Main board. So a USB Reader must be coming soon. After that, Pics. Lots and lots of Pics need moved. And Favorites, Docs, ... the list goes on. Like I said, a real PITA! Funny thing is, the Mouse Quit working is really what brought all this on. Jeez! The old one had other issues too, but that's what finally made me swap it out. Among other things, the Clock hasn't worked right on that one for literally Years! Sure will be nice to have a reliable clock on the screen again. The Network? Oh boy.... That's gonna be fun! I have 3 PC's and 2 Printers on this system at home now, and none of that works at this time. Good thing I know a trick or two about Manually setting the individual IP Addresses for each machine. I think that's gonna make it all work again.
As for the Laptop? I've often thought about doing that as well. I was also thinking about the newest version of Streets & Trips, a really good MS Program that I am actually familiar enough with to make it work in my favor. The Wireless Internet thing is something that I just don't want to pay for though. I;ve thought about tying that in with a cell phone, but again Charges will incur. And I'm betting that it would be pretty slow too. Not sure though, never looked into it. OK, enough from me for now..... EDIT: Off to download Firefox now.... I really miss that Automatic Spellchecker already! ;D

Right now... having just a little too much fun with the Media Player! ;D Dang, These Speakers are sounding GOOOOD! ;D ;D Ya know, this is like the forth time or so that I've suffered this fate (total PC Failure...) and I keep having fun with the things that get better each time I have to start up a new one. Not looking forward to the Network Repair, per se, but having a bit of a good time with what I'm messing with at the moment. Turns out, this is actually an Upgrade from what I had previously as the Main PC here at home. Big Time! SWEET! ;D
